Review By: Leslie & Gail Kay, WA
Fremantle to Fremantle
May 2008

Why this particular cruise?
Departing from Fremantle was a major factor in choosing this particular cruise. The ports of call were also of interest to us. Even though we have been to those places before, it was refreshing to visit them by sea rather then flying to them.

Where did the cruise go?

Departing from Fremantle to the Straits of Malacca, Asia, back to Fremantle

Did the ship measure up to your expectations?

Yes. Although we felt the ship was in need of a bit of re-vamp. (Looking tired eg. Carpets, walls need repainting) Not too bad though!

What were the cabins like?

We had a balcony cabin. Although very small, we felt that we still had enough room to move. There was plenty of hanging space in the wardrobes and lots of hangers. There was plenty of room under the bed for suitcases and bags. The bathroom was very cramped but didn’t find it to be a problem. Having the balcony gave it a sense of being bigger.

What was the food like?

Excellent! Only complaint would be that there’s too much of it!

Dining room was great, excellent service, food and presentation was outstanding.

Horizons food court (buffet) was ok although we did find the food was not very hot and we often had to queue.

The Steakhouse served the best steaks and was prepared exactly to our requirements. Excellent service!

The Pizzeria served the best pizzas.

What were the ships facilities like?

Facilities onboard were great as was the service. ( eg. pools, hot tubs gym, Lotus Spa, bars, lounges, theatres)

The tour desk while helpful to an extent was not very competent. We had problems with a couple of tours and felt they weren’t very organized. While Princess cannot control what happens on tours, they need to do some homework as to what is being offered. They cancelled some tours and recommended others that were terrible.

What was the best aspect of the ship/cruise?

There was always plenty to do. Never once felt bored.

While the ship was at full capacity, we never felt cramped or crowed out by others.( except for the buffet).

Who would this cruise appeal to?

All ages.
