Day 1. Arrive Barcelona. Be met on arrival in Barcelona and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy time at leisure before tonight's welcome reception.
Three night stay: Barcelona, Le Meridien.
Day 2. Barcelona sightseeing. Today take a tour to the top of Montjuic Hill to catch views of the city below, including the National Palace and the Olympic Complex. Next, tour Placa Catalonia and Las Ramblas, the promenade and centre of Barcelona life. Later, see the Temple Expiatori de la Segrada Familia designed by artist and architect Antonio Gaudi, which is still incomplete. You'll also enjoy a walking tour of Barrio Gotico (Gothic Quarter), King's Square and Tinell, the Royal Palace. This evening enjoy a special Welcome Dinner of Spanish tapas at a local restaurant. BD
Day 3. Barcelona at leisure.Enjoy a full day to explore Barcelona at leisure today. Later, you may like to enjoy an optional dinner show featuring flamenco dancers (own expense). B
Day 4. Barcelona, Arles, Embark.Depart Barcelona and travel to Arles. On the way, stop in Perpignan, a medieval city overlooked by the palace, fortress and gardens of the Palace of the Kings of Majorca. Here, enjoy time at leisure for lunch and a look around. Travel via Camargue on the southern coast and trace the ancient trade route linking the Atlantic and Mediterranean seas, before arriving in Arles, where your cruise of the beautioful Rhone begins. BD

Day 5. Arles, Freedom of Choice touring, Avignon.From Arles this morning, perhaps visit the village of Les Baux. Or you may like to take a walking tour - In the Steps of Van Gogh, which will take you around Arles and show you the locales and vistas that inspired the famous artist. Alternatively, take a Roman walking tour and discover why Arles is noted for its Roman and Romanesque heritage. BLD
Day 6. Avignon, Freedom of Choice touring, Viviers.Today in Avignon, choose from our Freedom of Choice touring options. Perhaps take a tour to the Papal Palace, which served as a fortress, a church and a residence to the Popes that once governed the Christian world. Alternatively, embark on an excursion to the historically intriguing commune of Uzes. After dinner onboard, in the largely abandoned town of Viviers this evening, enjoy a Ghost Walk. BLD
Day 7. Viviers - Tournon. After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to Grignan, a hilltop village dominated by a majestic castle. The ship sails for Tournon during lunch and arrives in the early evening. Here, enjoy a wine tasting. BLD
Day 8. Tournon - Vienne, Freedom of Choice touring.Enjoy a choice of gourmet activities in Tournon today. Savour regional cheese during a tasting experience, or indulge in locally-made chocolates. Enjoy lunch back onboard the ship as you cruise to Vienne this afternoon. Situated between the wine regions of Burgundy and Beaujolais, Vienne has a significant Roman history. BLD
Day 9. Vienne - Trevoux, Freedom of Choice Touring.Take a mini train ride and see the first-century Roman Temple of Augustus and the medieval churches of St Andre-Le-Bas and Abbey St Pierre, before we cruise to Trevoux. Enjoy a walking tour or a bike ride here. BLD
Day 10. Trevoux-Lyon.Your tour today takes you through Beaujolais. Enjoy a visit to a local winemaker and sample the famous Beaujolais Nouveau. Then, relax onboard as you cruise along the picturesque Saone River to Lyon, which is famously considered the gastronomic capital of France. Day 11. Disembark, Lyon, Basel, Embark.Travel to the beautiful Lake Geneva region today. Take a cable car ride and enjoy lunch with spectacular views before departing for Gruyeres, where you will enjoy a cheese tasting and a visit to the castle. Then, continue to Basel.

Day 12. Breisach, Freedom of Choice Touring. Today, choose between two activities. Day 13. Speyer. On arrival in the city of Speyer today, you'll disembark for a brief tour, including a visit to the Technik Museum Speyer, Europe's largest private technology museum. BLD
Day 14. Speyer, Heidelberg, Worms.Depart Speyer for an excursion to Heidelberg's red-walled castle. Return to the ship at Worms, one of Germany's oldest cities. Enjoy a tour. BLD
